Crystal Palace Ready To Make Offer For £33k-p/w Striker

Crystal Palace are preparing to make an offer to bring Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos to the Premier League, according to reports.

What's the latest on Morelos' future?

The Scottish Premiership forward will be out of contract in the summer and is still yet to receive a new deal to extend his stay, meaning that he is likely set to become a free agent at the end of the season. The Colombia international has featured in all 19 of Michael Beale’s games in charge so isn’t out of favour, but there have been plenty of suggestions that he doesn’t completely trust him.

The Light Blues boss publicly admitted that he wants “more energy” from the 26-year-old and confirmed that he’s held one-on-one discussions with him to express his concerns. The Glasgow-based star soon fuelled speculation of an exit following those comments by taking to social media to post a cryptic message that read: "Do not give up. Sometimes the last key is the one that opens the door."

According to TEAMtalk, Crystal Palace are “ready to make an offer” for Morelos and are “keen” to give him an opportunity to prove himself in the Premier League. Roy Hodgson and the board are “poised to chance their arm” as they look to bolster their attacking ranks, and considering he would cost nothing come the summer, the move would be virtually risk-free.

Aston Villa, Everton, Wolves, Burnley and Middlesbrough also “hold an interest” in the striker, whilst it’s stated that the player’s representatives have “already held discussions” with Villarreal and Sevilla regarding a potential move to La Liga.

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos.

Should Palace take a chance on Morelos?

Wilfred Zaha has been linked with an exit this summer, with the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea name-checked as potential suitors, so if he departs, we think Palace should definitely consider tabling a proposal for Morelos as his replacement at Selhurst Park.

The two-footed ace has proven to be extremely prolific in the final third, posting 180 goal contributions (122 goals and 58 assists) in 263 Rangers appearances, where he’s currently averaging 5.26 shots per game – form which has seen him dubbed a “machine” by talent scout Jacek Kulig.

The £33k-p/w talent is also used to stepping up and performing at the highest level, having become the top scorer in the Scottish Premiership in 2018/19, and with his ability to additionally play out wide on either wing alongside his natural centre-forward position, this deal could be an absolute bargain.

Liverpool Hit The Jackpot On £70.5m "Match-Winner"

Liverpool are renowned for identifying top talent and turning them into superstars – something that has been a key component to the club's success over the last seven years under Jurgen Klopp's guidance.

The Reds have won a plethora of trophies and consistently kept the Premier League title race tight with Manchester City after building a squad hungry for success and full to the brim with talent, using both recruitment strategies and unearthing talent through their outstanding youth set-up.

Liverpool's academy has produced some of the biggest generational talents the club has seen including Steven Gerrard, Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler and Jamie Carragher to name a few – with Trent Alexander-Arnold becoming one of the most recent breakthrough academy products to develop into a pillar of modern success.

The talented right-back joined the Liverpool academy back in 2004 at the age of just six years old, going on to captain the U18 and U21 teams during his time in the youth set-up and after 12 years of development made his Premier League debut in 2016 to begin his fairytale journey under Klopp.

What is Trent Alexander-Arnold worth now?

Just three years after stepping onto the pitch at Anfield for the first time ever, Alexander-Arnold played an important part in winning the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup in 2019.

Despite spending the majority of his academy days in midfield, the boyhood Liverpool star has redefined the right-back role to become one of the most creative players of all time in his position – setting a new Guinness world record for the most assists tallied up by a defender in the Premier League with 12 registered in the 2018/19 season.

Following the success in Europe, the 5 foot 9 full-back continued to collect silverware with his unstoppable side winning the FA Cup, League Cup and the club's first-ever Premier League title up to the present day.

The 24-year-old's impact has, of course, not gone unnoticed with former Liverpool player Danny Murphy heaping praise on the player for his attacking contributions:

"He consistently makes fantastic choices in the final third of the pitch.

"Every time he gets in there he's calm and picks the right pass. He's actually a match-winner as a full-back on so many occasions."

Over 262 appearances, the right-back has scored 15 times and tallied up a whopping 65 assists in total so far, so it will come as no surprise that Liverpool have hit the jackpot on their academy star with his market value soaring.

Despite costing the club absolutely nothing, Alexander-Arnold is currently worth a whopping €80m (£70.5m) – according to CIES Football Observatory – and although it would be unlikely that he would ever leave his beloved team, the England ace has become a massively valuable asset over the last seven years.

With that being said, there is no doubt that the Liverpool-born defender will want to add more trophies to his already stunning collection of accolades and will continue to be a key component in the future success at Anfield for many years to come.

Arsenal Could Make Move For £199k-p/w Star

Arsenal could make a move for Barcelona winger Raphinha in the summer transfer window, according to a new update from journalist Pete O'Rourke.

Who could Arsenal sign this summer?

Despite their remarkable performance in the Premier League so far this season, the Gunners are looking at new options all over the pitch for the summer, with Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund on the agenda, in a deal that could be worth over £44m.

In central midfield, Declan Rice remains a key target, and it has also emerged that the West Ham United captain is pushing for a summer move – according to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook – which could make a deal easier to orchestrate.

The Gunners are said to have a three-man shopping list of potential options in the engine room, with Moises Caicedo and Amadou Onana also being considered, although Rice remains their first choice.

In an interview with GiveMeSport, O'Rourke has claimed Mikel Arteta could also make a new attempt to sign Raphinha in the summer, having failed with a €70m (£61m) offer in the January transfer window.

The journalist said: "I think there's a possibility they could revisit the situation with Raphinha; it seems Arsenal sporting director Edu is a huge admirer of his fellow Brazilian; a lot will depend on what's going on at Barcelona this summer. If they need to sell players to raise funds, which it looks likely, Raphinha could be made available on the market and I'm sure that will pique Arsenal's interest if they think they can land the former Leeds man on a cheap deal."

Should Arsenal sign Raphinha this summer?

The Brazilian has a proven track record in the Premier League, having scored 11 goals and bagged three assists in his final season with Leeds United, and he has made a solid start to life in La Liga.

In 25 league games, the £199k-per-week earner has weighed in with six goals and four assists, which indicates Barca would be unwilling to let him go, if not for their concerning financial situation.

Journalist Muhammad Butt has also hailed the former Leeds man for his capabilities at the back, describing him as a "defensive monster" in February, while praising his work-rate and ability to drive the ball forward.

Arsenal are likely to be well-stocked in wide areas, given that Bukayo Saka is expected to sign a new contract, with Gabriel Martinelli already committing to a new deal.

However, Arteta will want to compete on all fronts next season, with the Gunners almost certain to be back in the Champions League, and Raphina would provide the Spaniard with fantastic strength in depth.

Tottenham: Spurs Insiders "Pushing" For British Appointment

A 'faction' behind the scenes at Tottenham Hotspur are apparently 'pushing' for the appointment of a British name such as Graham Potter.

Who could Spurs appoint as manager?

There have been no shortage of links to some of world football's most sought-after managers in recent weeks with the likes of Mauricio Pochettino, Luis Enrique, Zinedine Zidane and Julian Nagelsmann all mentioned in the past.

Brendan Rodgers and Graham Potter, after parting company with their most recent clubs, are also available for hire as Daniel Levy's options for Spurs' next manager seemingly appear vast.

However, this week, the most heavily-linked names arguably come in the form of Feyenoord boss Arne Slot and Burnley boss Vincent Kompany – with the duo being reported on in recent days.

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy watches on from the stands in a Premier League clash.

The Times claims Spurs are chasing a young and progressive coach to take them forward after the disastrous end of Antonio Conte's spell, with the Italian launching a scathing rant at both the club and his players before leaving.

Whoever Levy turns to in Tottenham's pursuit of a new manager will be imperative and there simply cannot be any repeat of their long, drawn-out search for Jose Mourinho's replacement two years ago.

Now, The Daily Mail journalist Ian Ladyman has some news on this front – claiming that there is currently division within Spurs over who should take the reins. Tottenham players favour Pochettino, though perhaps most interestingly, a 'faction' of club insiders are 'pushing' for a British name like Potter to get the job.

Levy apparently has other ideas, with the chairman taking a 'definite' fancy to Kompany.

Who should Tottenham appoint?

We're with the players on this one – Pochettino arguably stands out as the most suitable candidate.

Currently a free agent after leaving Paris-Saint Germain last year, the South American is arguably Tottenham's best bet for steadying the ship and reinstalling some much-needed positivity.

The attack-minded 4-3-3 boss would also bring the return of expansive, forward-thinking football – not to mention he already has proven Premier League experience and knows most of the current Spurs squad.

Called 'world-class' for his work on a mini-budget at Spurs by pundit and ex-midfielder Jamie O'Hara, the return of Pochettino would also do wonders to appease the fan base who have recently protested ENIC's ownership of the club.

It is really a no-brainer appointment when taking all of this into consideration – and the 51-year-old is up for it according to reports.

Positive Injury News For West Ham Against Southampton

Insider ExWHUemployee has revealed that West Ham United look to have a fully fit squad ahead of their next game while their opponents may have some worrying injuries to deal with.

What's the latest on West Ham and their injuries?

David Moyes and his side are very much approaching crunch time in their Premier League season. They sit 18th in the division with just 12 matches to save themselves after the international break ends.

They begin the run-in with a home match against fellow relegation battlers Southampton, who are currently bottom of the league, one point behind the Hammers.

In theory, a win for either side could see the victorious side lift themselves well out of the relegation zone – with 12th-placed Crystal Palace only three points above West Ham – so the importance of the game cannot be more clear.

With that in mind, Moyes will be delighted to know that his entire squad be available for selection, so long as nothing changes in the week before the match, while Southampton could be missing a few key men.

Ex explained as much while talking on a recent The West Ham Way Podcast, saying: “Both of Southampton's centre-backs – Jan Bednarek and Armel Bella-Kotchap – went off injured in their last league game.

"They've now got Che Adams to add to the injury list as he went off with a calf injury in Scotland's international game in the week. So Southampton have been hit by key injuries going into that game with us on Saturday.

"And as far as I'm aware, unless something happens in the next internationals this week – because there's still a few games to play – then West Ham are going to have a fully fit squad, including [Lukasz] Fabianski, who is back in training now with a face mask, but should be available.

"So we're going into that game with what I hope will be a fully fit squad, whereas Southampton have got quite a depleted one. So an absolutely massive, massive game for us, that game against Southampton.

Southampton defender Armel Bella-Kotchap

What's the latest team news for West Ham v Southampton?

Seeing as Bednarek suffered a broken rib in Saints last game, it seems unlikely that he'll be fit for this game. On top of that, as Ex mentions, there is doubt over the availability of Adams and Bella-Kotchap who could both miss the game.

Fabianski fractured his cheekbone and eye socket recently, but if Ex is right and the Pole is able to play with a face mask, the club should also have everyone available – providing Michail Antonio has also fully recovered from a minor calf issue.

All in all, it sounds like West Ham will have no excuses if they fail to get all three points at home against Southampton on Sunday.

Man Utd Keen On Signing Santiago Gimenez

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Feyenoord attacker Santiago Gimenez during the summer transfer window.

How is Gimenez playing this season?

The 21-year-old is enjoying an extremely fruitful season for the Dutch giants, producing consistently influential performances in the Eredivisie and the Europa League. He has scored 10 times in just 15 league starts, while in Europe, he has netted five times in seven outings – with only two of those being starts.

Gimenez's performances don't seem to be going unnoticed, with Crystal Palace one of the sides linked with making a move for him this summer. It certainly looks as though a Premier League switch could be on the cards, with United now also getting a mention.

Feyenoord's Santiago Gimenez celebrates scoring their first goal

Could youngster seal United move?

According to W Deportes [via Sport Witness], the Red Devils are the "most interested team" when it comes to Gimenez ahead of a possible move to Old Trafford. They have sent scouts to watch him in action several times and are believed to have made the "first contact" with his representatives.

He has a "clause close to €20m", and with doubts over Wout Weghorst and Anthony Martial's long-term futures, he could be seen as a superior option to come in and bolster United's attacking options.

Gimenez could be such an exciting signing for the Red Devils this summer, as despite not necessarily coming in as a guaranteed starter – the hope is that Harry Kane or Victor Osimhen may arrive, too – he may be viewed as a long-term prospect who can be an important squad player from the off.

His goalscoring record this season is testament to his potential, with 18 in all competitions marking a great return for Feyenoord. Meanwhile, he also has two strikes in nine caps for Mexico despite his tender years. We think it is essential that Erik ten Hag buys young players as well as those in their late 20s or even 30s, such as Raphael Varane, Casemiro and Christian Eriksen, in order to build for the future at Old Trafford.

Gimenez could be an ideal addition in that respect, hopefully coming in and having an even greater impact than his compatriot Javier Hernandez did, with the Mexican bagging 59 goals in 157 outings for United.

At 21, he still has so much improving to do as a player, and he could go through the gears faster by having top-quality players around him.

Arsenal Handed Boost In Race For £13m Star

Arsenal have been given a boost in the race to sign Eintracht Frankfurt's Djibril Sow, as the midfielder is now believed to be keen on a move, according to a report from Sport1.

Which midfielders could Arsenal sign this summer?

The Gunners have their eye on a number of midfielders ahead of the summer transfer window, with it recently being reported they have opened talks with Leicester City's Youri Tielemans, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

The Belgian is one potential option, however Mikel Arteta may also consider a swoop for Brighton & Hove Albion's Moises Caicedo, as it has now been reported a summer deal is still possible, at which point the Seagulls would accept a £70m offer.

Of course, West Ham United's Declan Rice remains a key target, and it has been detailed that Arsenal are now willing to pay the "jaw-dropping" price tag of at least £100m, as Arteta is personally a huge admirer of the Englishman.

However, the Gunners have also identified a cheaper player to bolster their options in the engine room this summer, as Sport1 report Sow will now be available for the knock-down price of €15m (£13m), having previously been valued at €35m (£31m)

The price tag has fallen as the 26-year-old's contract is set to expire in the summer of 2024, meaning the upcoming window is the last opportunity Frankfurt will have to receive a fee for the central midfielder.

The Bundesliga club will not prevent the Switzerland international from leaving this summer, and moving to the Emirates Stadium would apparently be "exactly the next step he wants to take."

Should Arsenal sign Djibril Sow?

Given that Caicedo is valued at £70m, and Rice could cost more than £100m, the Zurich-born maestro could be a decent alternative option, should the Gunners be priced out of competing for their main targets.

Journalist Sam Smith has hailed the former Borussia Monchengladbach man as "progressive on the ball and combative", indicating he would have a lot to offer Arsenal in both an attacking and defensive sense.

That said, the Frankfurt ace ranks lower than Rice for interceptions, tackles and pass-completion rate per 90 over the past year, while he also has no experience playing in the Premier League.

As such, Sow should only be targeted if the Gunners miss out on their main midfield targets this summer.

Chelsea Missed A Trick Over "Electric" £70m Dynamo

When Chelsea announced that they had won the race to sign Ukrainian winger Mykhailo Mudryk back in January for an £88.5m fee, you would be forgiven for thinking that he could be a player to take the club to the next level.

He had starred for Shakhtar Donetsk during the first half of the season, registering 18 goal contributions across all competitions, and he was one of the most sought-after wingers on the continent.

Since arriving at the Stamford Bridge outfit however, he has underwhelmed so far, grabbing just two assists, while the 22-year-old has an average Premier League Sofascore rating of 6.38/10, succeeding with just 27% of his dribble attempts and failing to score.

Would the Blues have been better off pursuing another January target instead – perhaps one who could have offered a greater attacking threat and settled in better than Mudryk? In Portuguese forward Rafael Leao, Chelsea appear to have missed a trick.

Did Chelsea miss out on Rafael Leao in the January transfer window?

The club were linked with the AC Milan player throughout the winter transfer window, with the Serie A side demanding a fee of €80m (£70m) in order for anyone to sign him, which would have worked out cheaper than the Mudryk deal.

There is no doubt Leao would have been a much better signing for Chelsea than Mudryk when you take a deeper look into their respective stats this season.

Across various attacking metrics, Leao has registered more goals (ten to six), shots per game (3.59 to 1.82), shot-creating actions per game (4.55 to 2.83) and delivered more crosses (57 to 11) this season than the Chelsea winger, suggesting that they may have signed the wrong player.

Leao ranks in the top 10% across Europe’s big five leagues for assists, progressive carries and successful take ons over the past year, whereas the Ukrainian barely ranks in the top 40% for the latter two statistics, clearly suggesting the Milan star is one of the finest on the continent in his position.

Rafael Leao

Having been dubbed “electric” by teammate Fikayo Tomori, the data does suggest he may have added more goals to a struggling Chelsea frontline and in turn, could have saved Graham Potter from the sack.

That is all conjecture of course, but the stats don’t lie – Leao has been in much greater form than the current Chelsea winger and perhaps in hindsight, would have made a bigger impact at the club.

Dejan Kulusevski Hails 31 y/o Linked With Spurs Job

Tottenham Hotspur winger Dejan Kulusevski has shared his liking towards the young coach currently at the north London club, Ryan Mason.

What did Kulusevski say?

The issues at Spurs are there for all to see as their pursuit of a spot in next season's Champions League has begun to fall away over recent weeks.

After parting ways with Antonio Conte during the international break, the Lilywhites have only gone on to win one of their three Premier League games.

And even that victory came in controversial fashion with VAR issuing an apology to Brighton & Hove Albion for the decisions made in that game.

The search for their next permanent manager goes on with the likes of Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique believed to be on the radar of Daniel Levy.

In the meantime, Conte's assistant, Cristian Stellini, has been handed the keys in north London with Mason acting as his assistant coach.

However, the 31-year-old was one of the names who was tipped to potentially take over from the Italian with his coaching staff expected to have left alongside him.

And speaking about Mason, Kulusevski has waxed lyrical about the young coach who has taken on a big role at his boyhood club:

"I like him a lot, because you know he was a player there just a couple of years ago. He knows how it is to be in our shoes. Like today, I spoke to him after the training, he was seeing something when I was shooting and trying to correct it, ask me about what I think when I shoot like that.

"It's good when you can speak with someone who knows what they're talking about because he was in your shoes a couple of years ago. He's a fantastic guy honestly."

Should Mason have been handed the job?

Stellini's promotion to manager has seen very little change in north London with the 48-year-old simply carrying over Conte's style of play and formation.

Spurs have now named an unchanged team for the last three games (all of Stellini's games in charge) and the performances have left a lot to be desired.

Saturday's game against Bournemouth was perhaps the biggest example of this as he ended up playing Harry Kane in midfield as Spurs chased the game following another poor display which saw them fall behind to the Cherries in the second half.

Ryan Mason and Cristian Stellini watch on as Tottenham Hotspur throw away maximum points to Everton.

Perhaps replacing Conte and his team altogether would have been the best option for Daniel Levy with Mason potentially bringing some fresh ideas to the table.

The Spurs defence has been nothing short of abysmal this season with only six other sides having conceded more goals than their 45 this season.

Yet nothing has changed systematically since Conte's exit and Spurs have conceded five goals in their three games under Stellini.

Even further up the field, Kulusevski has not been the same player this season as he was last term, yet Arnaut Danjuma still awaits his first start in the league.

Unless changes are made, the next seven games for Spurs could prove tough watches for their fans.

"Outstanding" West Ham Titan Proved Moyes Right Vs Fulham

West Ham United picked up a huge three points in their battle against relegation on Saturday afternoon as they defeated Fulham 1-0 at Craven Cottage.

What happened in Fulham vs West Ham?

David Moyes opted to make a number of changes from the side that were thrashed in midweek, with Danny Ings, Pablo Fornals, Aaron Cresswell and Angelo Ogbonna all returning to the side in an unfamiliar 4-4-2 formation.

West Ham started well and took the lead in fortunate circumstances as Jarrod Bowen picked the ball up in the penalty box and breezed past Tim Ream, with his cross turned into his own net by Harrison Reed.

The Hammers wouldn't create too many opportunities thereafter but limited their hosts to very little, with Lukasz Fabianski redeeming himself after Wednesday's horror show by denying Andreas Pereira when he was through on goal late on.

Moyes' side should have made the points safe when Maxwel Cornet found himself with time and space in on Fulham's goal, but he shot straight at Bernd Leno when under no pressure, with Said Benrahma waiting for a square pass.

However, one goal would be enough for West Ham and they move up to 13th position in the Premier League table to ease the pressure on Moyes ahead of the final eight games.

Who was West Ham's star performer against Fulham?

It was far from convincing once again from West Ham, but they were able to hold on to the win thanks to a big defensive effort, with Fabianski earning a rare away clean sheet.

As per Sofascore, the returning Ogbonna would earn a superb 7.8/10 rating for his performance at Craven Cottage, which saw him ranked as the joint-best performer from both sides alongside his central-defensive partner, Kurt Zouma.

During the 90 minutes, the experienced defender would contribute a phenomenal 12 clearances, two blocks, three interceptions and one tackle, compared to his average of 4.2 clearances, 0.3 blocks, 1.1 interceptions and one tackle per game in the Premier League so far this campaign – emphasising just how impressive he was.

To add to this, the former Juventus man would also win 100% of his duels and lose possession on just three occasions in what was a superb all-round display, as while West Ham wouldn't see much of the ball, Ogbonna did exactly what was required of him and was suitably described as "superb" by The Athletic's Roshane Thomas following the game.

It was a bold decision by Moyes to drop Nayef Aguerd for the veteran defender in such an important fixture, but the Scottish manager arguably proved that he does know what he is doing – contrary to fans' opinions – after his side's vital win.
