كشفت تقارير صحفية أن هناك اسما جديدا قد يكون مفاجأة لتدعيم مركز الجناح الأيسر في الفريق الأول لكرة القدم بنادي برشلونة لتعويض فشل صفقة، نيكو ويليامز.

وكان برشلونة يركز في الأسابيع الماضية على التعاقد مع جناح أتلتيك بلباو، نيكو ويليامز، بعد تصريحات من رئيسه خوان لابورتا بأنهم قادرين على ضم اللاعب بالفعل.

ولكن اللاعب يبدو وأنه أقرب للبقاء مع فريقه بعدما منحه القميص رقم 10 الذي كان يرتديه القائد، إيكر موناين، في السنوات الماضية.

وبحسب صحيفة “24sata” الكرواتية أن مدرب برشلونة، هانز فليك، اختار اسم آخر للقدوم إلى برشلونة وهو من الحرس القديم له في بايرن ميونخ.

وزعمت الصحيفة أن فليك قد اتصل بلاعبه السابق، إيفان بيريسيتش، الذي كان يلعب مع بايرن ميونخ تحت قيادته وحقق السداسية وسجل أيضًا في فوزهم على برشلونة بنتيجة 8-2.

وتوصل بيريسيتش قبل ساعات قليلة لاتفاق مع ناديه هيدوك سبليت في الدوري الكرواتي لفسخ عقده، وبالتالي، قدومه إلى برشلونة لن يكلف سوى راتبه السنوي.

Glasgow Rangers have already shown major signs of improvement since Philippe Clement was appointed manager of the Ibrox side just a few weeks ago.

Cyriel Dessers is another attacking player who promised so much upon his arrival in Glasgow, yet has failed to live up to expectations. Across 17 matches, the Nigeria international has scored just four goals – far from what is required to be successful at Ibrox.

Could the former Club Brugge manager be tempted to delve into the January transfer window in order to sign another attacker or two? If Lammers and Dessers continue their poor form, he may need to.

Rangers' January transfer plans

The 49-year-old may have outlined that he could potentially make a signing or two in the coming months when talking with the media before the Hearts game, saying: "I am here to build the team and make them stronger – that is where my focus lies and not on any external noise. We need to work hard in the coming weeks and months to see what we need to do in January. With injuries, you need to find solutions but we had players who were able to step in and that is what I expect."

He will, of course, have his own transfer targets in mind and could spend the next few weeks exploring certain options, but Clement could potentially reignite a move for a previous summer target at Rangers, as Sam Bell was a player Beale was keen on signing.

According to TEAMtalk, the Gers were keeping tabs on Bell, although they faced stiff competition from clubs such as Brighton & Hove Albion, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brentford due to his performances for Bristol City.

The 21-year-old ended up remaining at the Robins despite the interest shown in him and started the season in excellent fashion, with four goals in the first nine league games – which could well spark the rumour mill into action over the next few weeks.

Rangers need another constant goal threat and Bell could be ideal, especially as he has shown traits similar to that of Ryan Kent.

Former Ibrox winger Ryan Kent departed after five seasons at the club due to his contract expiring, and while Abdallah Sima has performed well on the left wing, the Gers have missed the presence of Kent in their side.

The Englishman registered 89 goal contributions – 33 goals and 56 assists – across 218 matches for the Light Blues, and while he may have only scored three goals during his final campaign in Scotland, his ability to constantly cause havoc for the opposition defence is something Beale failed to replace during the summer.

While his goalscoring output was lower than expected, Kent did still rank fourth across the squad for big chances created (nine) in the Premiership, while ranking third for key passes (2.2) and first for successful dribbles per game (1.9), indicating that his creative juices were still flowing.

Sima has chipped in with nine goals in just 17 matches, yet he is only on a season-long loan from Brighton, and the Ibrox faithful mustn’t get too attached to him.

Bell is young, has experience in the English second tier and is a goalscoring winger who can also operate through the middle. Clement must surely take another look at the youngster.

Sam Bell has impressed for Bristol City this season

The Englishman made his debut for the club during the 2020/21 season, but it wasn’t until last term that he began to leave his mark on the side.

He scored six times while grabbing three assists in 29 matches, which set him up rather nicely for the current campaign, where he has already bettered his league goal tally from last term.

The youngster is even embodying similar traits to Kent by ranking second across the squad for big chances created in the Championship (three), while ranking fifth for key passes per game (0.8) and sixth for successful dribbles per game (0.6), showing that he is one of the better attacking options at the club.

Of course, he isn’t quite at Kent’s level yet, but Bell has plenty of time to develop, and Clement could be the ideal coach for him.

His manager at City, Nigel Pearson, has described Bell as a “naturally clean finisher” and this attribute has been on show during the opening few months of the season.

The player has only 18 months remaining on his current contract, which might be good news for the Light Blues, who could potentially secure him for a lower price than anticipated during their original interest in the summer.

Due to the form of Lammers and Dessers, Clement might not be able to wait until next summer to get a move sorted, with January being the perfect chance for Bell to arrive and continue his excellent form.

Whatever happens, the Belgian must make his own mind up regarding the young winger and make a decision swiftly, as there are plenty of other teams looking to snatch him away from City the moment the transfer window opens again.

Newcastle United have enjoyed another strong start to a Premier League campaign under Eddie Howe as they sit sixth in the table after nine matches.

The Magpies ran out 4-0 winners against Crystal Palace last time out and are now the top scorers in the division with 24 strikes to date.

However, that does not mean there are not areas for improvement and one move the club could make to take them up another level is to swoop for Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe, who could be a big upgrade on Elliot Anderson.

Howe has been touted with an interest in the Gunners ace, who has come up through their academy system, and it will reportedly take a fee of £60m to secure his signature.

The January transfer window is still a while away from opening but Dan Ashworth and the Toon head coach may already be drafting their plans, with a possible move for Smith Rowe seemingly on the agenda.

How many goals has Anderson scored for Newcastle?

The 20-year-old midfielder is yet to register his first senior goal in a Newcastle shirt in 41 first-team appearances for the club, which includes 32 Premier League outings.

He has also only registered two assists in that time and has not been able to offer regular quality at the top end of the pitch, although it would be harsh to expect that at his age.

Anderson has produced zero goals and one assist, along with 0.9 dribbles per game, in nine top-flight matches so far during the 2023/24 campaign, which has included four starts, as per Sofascore.

These statistics suggest that the Scottish youngster has not made a significant impact on the pitch and a loan could be a valuable experience for him during the second half of the season, which the signing of Smith-Rowe would free up the space to facilitate.

How many goals has Smith Rowe scored for Arsenal?

Smith Rowe, on the other hand, has racked up 18 goals and 11 assists in 103 games for Arsenal after coming up through their youth set-up.

Just like Anderson, he is a versatile gem who can operate in a central midfield role or out wide on either flank and can, therefore, be utilised in the same positions that Howe has been using the current Newcastle prospect in.

The Gunners ace has not started a Premier League game since the start of last season but his form during the 2021/22 campaign suggests that there is an excellent player for Howe to unearth if the Magpies can sign him in January.

Smith Rowe contributed with ten goals, two assists, and one dribble completed per game across 21 top-flight starts, and 33 appearances in total, that season.

The 23-year-old wizard, who was once described as "exciting" by Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher, has proven himself to be able to score goals and make a big impact on a regular basis as a midfielder in the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta trusted him from the start and he delivered, which suggests that Howe could get the same from him during the second half of the season and beyond if he places trust in the talented ace and affords him the chance to start games.

Therefore, Smith Rowe could come in as a big upgrade on Anderson with his potential to provide more quality in the final third at this level.

Joel Matip haplessly scooped the ball into his own net with but moments until the final whistle, but Liverpool will condemn mistakes of a far greater weight as Jurgen Klopp's side rue the ineptitude of officials in defeat against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Reds have started the 2023/24 campaign with the strength and solidarity that has been intrinsic to the success of this squad since Klopp's appointment way back when, and while a seven-match winning streak across all competitions and an unbeaten start to the term has been cruelly snapped, there are positives to be recovered from the grimy debris of an inconsolable evening.

How did Alisson perform against Tottenham?

In London, he made a whopping eight saves – including wondrous stretching stops from a curling effort from James Maddison and an instinctive hand from the free-scoring Heung-min Son.

Signed from Roma for £67m in 2018 – a world record for a goalkeeper at the time – the 30-year-old certainly didn't come cheap, but are there truly many Premier League acquisitions for such a lofty fee to have eclipsed the impact he has had behind the rearguard of the Merseyside club's defence.

When the wounds inflicted on a dreary night against the Lilywhites – who continue their resounding revival under Ange Postecoglou – are healed, the Reds will be emboldened in their pursuit of silverware, and with Alisson in goal, they truly boast the armour to achieve such ambitious goals.

While Alisson deservedly received praise for his efforts, the return to full strength of Virgil van Dijk must not go under the radar; after several years of ebbing and flowing from his best for different reasons, the Dutchman looks a dominant force in central defence again.

How is Virgil van Dijk playing this season?

That's not to say he was ever awful, rather, a detrimental injury suffered against Everton in 2020 had hindered his relentless presence at the back, and now, Van Dijk really does look to have hit his zenith again.

Spurs, despite having a two-man advantage for around 25 minutes, failed to truly exert their dominance on proceedings, rebuffed by a resolute Reds defence that simply refused to give up.

Ainda que o negócio tenha avançado no Conselho, Rollo não vê a situação com o “martelo batido”, ainda pensa em alinhar algumas questões com o clube chileno, entre elas a possibilidade de uma cláusula que impeça ou dificulte que em um futuro Soteldo seja negociado com um rival nacional.

– Não é porque aprovamos que está resolvido. Amanhã voltamos à mesa de negociações, trazendo os pontos aprovados hoje pelo Conselho. As negociações são dinâmicas, mudam de minuto para outro. Pode ser que amanhã o Huachipato queira colocar uma cláusula a mais e volta do zero. Hoje tivemos aval de prosseguir a negociação nos itens de um pré-acordo. O mais importante foi que conseguimos manter o Soteldo. Santos detém os direitos federativos em 100%. Transferimos 50% dos econômicos. Vamos mantê-lo jogando talvez até por um tempo maior que possamos imaginar – falou Orlando.

– A gente estuda colocar essa cláusula no contrato, mas não é certo. Nem precisaríamos trazer ao Conselho por não ser prejudicial, seria benéfica – acrescentou.

O presidente disse também que em reunião realizada antes do encontro com os Conselheiros, o atacante e os seus representantes foram favoráveis a proposta, ainda que ainda não tenham formalizado o “sim”.

– Negociações mudam muito em segundos às vezes. Mas está tudo bem encaminhado, Soteldo quer ficar e a gente quer ele. A maior vitória de hoje foi manter o Soteldo. E vamos lutar para tirar as restrições da Fifa – afirmou o presidente.

It states that the 23-year-old ace is due to fly over once he has been given international clearance and will then undergo a medical over the next 24-48 hours.

Football Insider also report that manager Brendan Rodgers could look to make up to four other signings before the window slams shut; including a centre-back, goalkeeper, left-back, and striker.

How good is Luis Palma?

The Aris star's form since the start of the 2022/23 campaign suggests that he could be a sensational signing for Celtic if he is able to translate those performances over to the Scottish Premiership.

Palma is a right-footed left-winger who has the potential to score goals and create chances for his teammates on a regular basis, which could make him Rodgers' next version of former Hoops star Scott Sinclair.

The Honduran phenom racked up 11 goals and four assists in 20 Super League starts for his club last season – an average of one goal contribution every 1.33 starts. This came alongside one goal and three assists in three Europa Conference League qualifier starts.

He showcased his clinical edge in front of goal with only one missed 'big chance' in the Greek top-flight, which shows that the talented ace rarely passed up a good opportunity to find the back of the net.

The £3.5m-rated hotshot has started the current campaign in phenomenal form with two goals and three assists in five starts across the Super League and Europa Conference League qualifiers.

This means that Palma has produced 24 goals and assists combined in 28 starts across the two aforementioned competitions since the start of last term.

The 5 foot 10 magician is, therefore, capable of making a consistent impact at the top end of the pitch as both a scorer and creator, which is why he could be the next Sinclair at Parkhead.

During Rodgers' first spell in Scotland, the former Manchester City winger amassed 60 goals and 41 assists in 148 appearances from a left-wing position for the Bhoys, which worked out as one goal involvement per 1.47 matches on average.

Sinclair was a vital player for the Northern Irish tactician's attack as the English wizard was able to consistently provide quality in the final third with goals and assists.

Palma, who was described as a "huge player" by Aris manager Apostolos Terzis, could do a similar job for Rodgers on the left flank if he is able to carry on the sublime form that has seen the Honduras international catch the eye over the last 12 months or so.

As such, the inbound dynamo could well emerge as Rodgers' next Sinclair-like talent on the wings at Parkhead this season.
