A partida contra a Ponte Preta é uma das mais importantes do Corinthians em 2017. Uma vitória tranquiliza o momento de maior instabilidade na temporada, um empate prolonga por mais uma rodada a tensão da aproximação dos rivais e uma derrota pode fazer com que Palmeiras e Santos encostem de modo irreversível antes de um embate justamente contra os alviverdes. Diante de um adversário ameaçado pelo rebaixamento, o Timão sabe o peso do confronto deste domingo, às 17h, no estádio Moisés Lucarelli, pela 31ª rodada.

Desde a derrota para o Botafogo na segunda-feira, o Timão terá cinco sessões de treinamento para corrigir problemas antes de enfrentar a Macaca. Além de trabalhos específicos com foco nas bolas paradas defensivas e ofensivas, o técnico Fábio Carille dirigiu treinos técnicos e simulou situações de jogo pensando na forma como o adversário deverá se apresentar.

Em resumo, Carille espera a Ponte Preta como um time de transições rápidas, atento aos erros de passes simples que o Corinthians trabalha para evitar, e que utilizará o fator psicológico durante o jogo. Os experientes Rodrigo (zagueiro, 37 anos), Wendel (volante, 35 anos) e Emerson Sheik (atacante, 39 anos) devem começar jogando e, segundo Carille, vão fazer com que seja um “jogo de provocação”. No ataque, a Ponte deve ter Lucca na direita, Danilo na esquerda e o próprio Sheik na referência, um time de velocidade e infiltração.

Romero volta ao time para atuar na ponta esquerda e deter os ataques de Nino Paraíba – Marquinhos Gabriel, que deixa o time, é mais jogador de um contra um ofensivo e não recompõe defensivamente como o paraguaio. A outra mudança em relação ao time titular será Pablo, que volta de lesão após quatro jogos e ocupa a vaga de Pedro Henrique.

Essa mesma formação que inicia jogando contra a Ponte no domingo teve seu auge técnico na primeira final do Paulistão, quando venceu o time de Campinas por 3 a 0 e abriu vantagem antes de ser campeão. De novo, é proibido errar.

Everton could form a formidable attacking duo after they were linked with a move for Real Madrid forward Eden Hazard as the January transfer window fast approaches.

What’s the story?

According to The Express (who cite The Mirror), Los Blancos have given up hope of extracting the 30-year-old’s best form and now prepared to part ways with their £88 million signing.

The report states that Madrid have slapped a mere £21m price tag on Hazard, attracting interest from the Toffees and fellow Premier League outfit West Ham United as a result.

Imagine him & Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Enticing Hazard back to English football would be a significant coup for Everton, and the diminutive dynamo could create a deadly partnership with star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

During his time at former club Chelsea and for his national team, the Belgium international has often prospered when playing alongside a more traditional centre-forward.

The likes of Diego Costa, Romelu Lukaku and Olivier Giroud have all enjoyed lining up in the same side as Hazard, and the creative talent could certainly have a similar fruitful time with Calvert-Lewin.

Over the last two-and-a-half years, the 6 foot 2 gem has elevated his game to new heights, scoring 39 goals in 83 appearances for the Merseyside outfit, highlighting his potential to become an elite-level striker.

And Calvert-Lewin would also complement Hazard’s more relaxed approach to the game. While the Englishman is renowned for his hard work, the Madrid ace is known for a more laissez-faire attitude, as John Obi Mikel pointed out.

“He didn’t like to train hard. While we were working he was waiting for us to finish training just standing there. But on Sundays, he was always Man of the Match, it was unbelievable,” the retired midfielder revealed to BeIN Sport.

“Hazard has an incredible talent, maybe not as good as (Lionel) Messi, but he can do whatever he wants with the ball at his feet.”

Therefore, Everton’s hierarchy must swoop for Hazard over the coming months, putting him out of his Santiago Bernabeu nightmare and potentially reviving his career.

Gautam Gambhir has picked up a groin injury and will miss the Compaq Cup in Sri Lanka after being advised 10 days’ rest. One player that has played a part in Liverpool’s defensive line in this campaign is Joel Matip, who has played in all but three of their 11 Premier League games this season, as well as playing in all of their Champions League games.

In that time, Matip has proven himself to be a very useful defensive outlet for Klopp by racking up an average of 2.6 clearances per game and 1.4 interceptions per game in the league, ultimately earning him high praise from former Reds defender Jamie Carragher who has said that Matip has been better than Virgil van Dijk this season.

Despite his impressive start to the season, the fact that Matip has now hit the age of 30 and has his current contract at the Merseyside club set to expire in 2024, there’s every possibility that he could be on his way out of the club at that point.

With that in mind, Liverpool could already have their ideal heir for Matip in their youth ranks with 20-year-old defender Morgan Boyes.

As a product of Liverpool’s youth academy, Boyes has made a total of 59 appearances between the Merseyside club’s U18 and U23 sides.

The defender has also made two senior appearances for the Reds, the first of which came during their 5-0 defeat against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup back in December 2019 where he played the full 90 minutes and then in their 1-0 win over Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup where he came on as a late substitute in February 2020.

In April 2020, in an interview with the club’s media, Boyes described himself as a “composed” player on the ball and someone who likes to have a laugh with his teammates off the pitch.

This could also make him a suitable heir for Matip given how the Cameroon international has shown off his impressive passing ability in the Premier League this season with an average passing accuracy percentage of 90%.

Moving forward, while Matip may not be in any danger of having Boyes take his place in the team anytime soon, the youngster definitely has what it takes to break into Jurgen Klopp’s team if he manages to make the most out of any opportunities he gets to play with them in the future. As a result, he could potentially save FSG millions in transfer fees as a possible long-term replacement for Matip.

A sequência de jogos do Botafogo misto mostra que o técnico Jair Ventura pode olhar com carinho para o seu banco de reservas. No último domingo, apesar da derrota de 2 a 1 para a Ponte Preta, o Alvinegro mandou na partida por um bom tempo e há o que extrair. As atuações de Jefferson, Leandrinho e Brenner, por exemplo.

Que o goleiro é talentoso ninguém duvida, mas foram pelo menos três grandes defesas no Moisés Lucarelli e não é de hoje que ele vem mostrando que pode ser útil mesmo após mais de um ano lesionado e aos 34 anos. No seu retorno, por exemplo, defendeu um pênalti e assegurou o empate em 1 a 1 com o Atlético-MG, em julho.

Além do camisa 1, os reservas Leandrinho e Brenner também tiveram bons momentos na partida. O primeiro marcou de pênalti o seu primeiro gol com a camisa alvinegra. Embora tenha desperdiçado algumas oportunidades, mostrou que pode ser uma boa sombra de Roger e, se adquirir confiança, pode até competir com o artilheiro da temporada.

Elogios do chefe

Leandrinho, por sua vez, não teve nenhuma jogada de efeito, mas atuou mais recuado, como volante, e não comprometeu. O jogador de 20 anos saiu machucado aos 13 do segundo tempo, mas brilhou na partida anterior, quando fez o gol da vitória sobre o Grêmio, na abertura do returno. E não é de hoje que ele mostra que tem estrela. O meia já marcou na final do Estadual de 2016.

O trio busca espaço com o técnico, mas já mostrou que tem o seu valor. E o próprio Jair Ventura exaltou a força do elenco mesmo com a derrota em Campinas.

– Estamos muito bem servidos. Isso é uma coisa muito boa para o treinado: Ter bons jogadores a disposição – comentou Ventura.

Do trio, apenas Brenner não está inscrito na Copa do Brasil e Libertadores, porque chegou depois.

يُخطط المدرب الألماني، توماس توخيل، المدير الفني لنادي تشيلسي، للاعتماد على جناحه الإنجليزي رحيم ستيرلينج، كمهاجم وهمي هذا الموسم، في ظل عدم تعاقد النادي اللندني مع مهاجم جديد.

وشارك ستيرلينج كهاجم وهمي في مباراة تشيلسي وإيفرتون بالدوري الإنجليزي، في حين قاد كاي هافيرتز الهجوم.

وكان ستيرلينج قد تحدث قبل يومين عن مركزه المُفضل، وقال حينها: “كما تعلمون جميعًا، مركزي الأساسي هو جناح، في بعض الأحيان أستمتع بالتجول والاستيلاء على الكرة، أمام إيفرتون لعبت كمهاجم وهمي، ولكنني سأكون سعيدًا عندما أكون فعالًا وأساعد فريقي”.

ستيرلينج خلال معظم مسيرته الكروية لعب كجناح، لكنه ظهر أيضًا كمهاجم وهمي في مانشستر سيتي، ومع عدم وجود صانع ألعاب في البلوز ومهاجم قد يواصل اللعب كرأس حربة وهمي.

وقال توخيل عن الأمر في تصريحات نشرتها صحيفة “مترو” البريطانية: “أعتقد أنه يجب أن يلعب في الجزء الأخير أو بين الخط الدفاعي”.

وواصل: “يُمكنه اللعب كجناح بالطبع، إنه معتاد على اللعب في هذا المركز، لقد كان خطيرًا للغاية هُناك، ولكن ما فعله في مباراة إيفرتون أحببته للغاية أيضًا”.

واختتم توخيل تصريحاته قائلًا: “لكن علينا أن نُدرك أن الأمور لم تنته بعد، لقد جاء متأخرًا إلى الموسم التحضيري، لكن هُناك شيء واحد واضح هو أن تأثيره ضخم وواضح بغض النظر عن مركزه”.

يُذكر أن تشيلسي يستعد لملاقاة توتنهام في ديربي لندن، مساء الغد الأحد، على ملعب “ستامفورد بريدج”، بالجولة الثانية من الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.

وافق نادي أهلي جدة على رحيل لاعبه الدولي السوري عمر السومة إلى صفوف نادي العربي القطري.

وأكد مصدر في الأهلي السعودي لصحيفة “الرياضية” السعودية موافقة ناديه على انتقال السومة للفريق القطري لمدة موسم واحد فقط على سبيل الإعارة حتى صيف 2023.

ورحب السومة من جانبه بتسوية مستحقاته المالية المتأخرة لدى الأهلي، وذلك لكي يوافق الفريق الجداوي على رحيل اللاعب.

وكان أهلي جدة هبط إلى دوري الدرجة الأولى “دوري يلو” في الموسم الماضي بعدما احتل المركز الخامس عشر في جدول ترتيب الدوري السعودي للمحترفين برصيد 32 نقطة.

وسبق أن لعب السومة في صفوف القادسية الكويتي في الفترة ما بين عامي 2011 و2014، ورحل عن الفريق إلى صفوف أهلي جدة في صيف 2014، والذي توج معه بلقب الدوري في موسم 2015-2016، كما حقق معه لقب هداف الدوري السعودي 3 مرات.

وتمكن السومة من تسجيل 10 أهداف بقميص الأهلي، كما صنع 3 في 24 مباراة لعبها في الدوري الموسم الماضي، كما سجل هدفًا وصنع آخر في مباراتين بكأس خادم الحرمين الشريفين.

ويعد السومة الهداف التاريخي لأهلي جدة والدوري السعودي للمحترفين برصيد 143 هدفًا في 179 لقاءً.

ويرتبط أهلي جدة بضم المصري أحمد حسن كوكا من صفوف أولمبياكوس اليوناني، لتعويض رحيل السومة.

يُشار أيضًا إلى أن أهلي جدة أعلن بشكل رسمي استمرار المدرب الأوروجواياني روبرت سيبولدي كمدرب للفريق لمدة موسم آخر.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier has been blasted by former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie.

The Lowdown: Time out for Dier

Dier had started his season in impressive form, starting all four of Spurs’ opening top flight games as they earned triple 1-0 victories to jump to the top of the Premier League table.

But on Saturday, Dier and Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were handed their first blow of the season as they fell to a 3-0 defeat at London rivals Crystal Palace, with the England international forced off with an injury after just 12 minutes.

It is unknown how long the 27-year-old is set to miss, but he has received criticism from McAvennie following the defeat to Patrick Viera’s men.

The Latest: McAvennie blasts Dier

Speaking to Football Insider, McAvennie has claimed that Spurs shouldn’t reintroduce the former Sporting Lisbon man to the XI when he recovers from injury.

The former Celtic and Hammers forward has insisted that the £19.8million-rated man never possessed the qualities required to play at centre-back anyway.

He said: “Eric Dier has never been a centre half.

“When you watch him you can see that he just hasn’t got it.

“They have tried to make a space for him in the team.

“They don’t need him in the midfield, and he doesn’t do it at the back. He never has been a defender and never will be.”

The Verdict: Harsh but true

The harsh reality is that Dier’s previous backs McAvennie’s point up. When Nuno has all his regular defenders back, with Davinson Sanchez and Cristian Romero missing the game, Dier is likely to drop to the bench or move to midfield.

Dier, who has been labelled ‘sensational’ in the past by former Lilywhite Jermaine Jenas, will now miss at least Thursday’s UEFA Conference League trip to Rennes and maybe Sunday’s vital game with Chelsea.

Falling to defeat at Palace wasn’t Dier’s fault as he was off for over 75 minutes, but if his injury is a lengthy one, it may prove difficult to force his way back in once Romero has settled.
